Community News:
We now have two new Bylaw Officers working our area. Mark Middleton and Nick Jay will help in removing graffiti, shopping carts, unwanted garbage in alleys, snow and ice removal, weed control, removing campers, etc. They will be working along side the police at District 2. Their job is to educate first and ticket later. We wish them success in their new job.
The new Bylaw officers have been issuing warnings at the park. It apparently is an onlease area for dog owners. This is new news to all the residents of Shaganappi. Please contact Jon Mar our Alderman and let him know how you feel about this change in city policy. Dave will call Jon and work to have this policy changed. To reach our Alderman call 311, and leave him a message.

Membership Drive: Will take place in April along with the Block Watch information.

Development: Mike W. and Ron G. have sent the city planning department a letter stating the City regulations have become overly complex and prescriptive. Owners rights have become secondary to what Community Associations want. Shaganappi wants to encourage new development and prefers to find ways to help resolve differences when they occur.

Traffic: School traffic has slowed down recently due to the amount of uncleared snow on the city streets. Wayne voiced concern over cars cutting through the neighborhood at alleyways off 17th Ave.

West LRT: Mike W, Dave and Errol will attend a meeting with the city on Feb.18 to address the upcoming traffic issues we will face with the LRT. We want to know that the excess dirt will be piled where our berms are to be placed. The naming of our station has been delayed due to lack of city reps at the last meeting.

Jacques Lodge: MCF Board will be meeting with Mike W. and Jane to explain their new development plan for their site on March 10, 7-9 pm. After an open house will be planned.

Gully Clean-up: Is to take place on April 24, please plan on attending and invite your neighbors.

Property Tax: Dave has been speaking with the city to reduce our house taxes during LRT construction. If we receive a reduction they will be sure to increase our taxes after construction is complete.

Meeting adjourned at 7:30pm. Next meeting March 9th at 6:30.

Thank-you Phil and friends for creating and maintaining our great ice rink!
