Dear Residents of the Shaganappi Community:

Our Block watch Program has changed to be more community specific to the needs of the different neighbourhoods in Calgary. Our website is updated and I would like to talk to you about how you can utilize this tool to stay connected with neighbours. As I see in our database there are 5 members for the Shaganappi Community registered. If you find a group or more residents willing to listen to our changes or have a crime prevention brain storming session together please let me know and I will come out to your Community.

Please feel free to call me anytime.  Thanks & have a great day!

To the residents of the Shaganappi Community:

The Calgary Community Block Watch program is being reintroduced into our community. Please take the time to check out the training material online on their website; read the material and become a member by registering either online or by phone at 403-509-2565, or by contacting This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

The more residents actively participating in this citizen-driven, community based program will reduce crime such as burglaries, auto theft, and vandalism. This translates to rewards such as watching out for the well-being or our neighbours, reduced crime, and peace of mind and community pride. Calgary Community Block Watch depends on your involvement for success.

Of course, in order for this to be effective, volunteers are needed. Neighbourhoods are organized into “blocks”. We would require a Block Watch “captain” per every block. The time commitment is determined by the individual or roughly 2 hours per month.

Please let This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it know if you are interested in becoming a Block Watch Captain. A Block Watch section is listed on our Shaganappi Community website - see the main menu.

Please assist us to get this message out to all Shaganappi residents. If your neighbour does not own a computer or have a child at school please either print a copy or relay this message to them. Thank you for your community involvement.
